You Switched to a CGM — What Are the Leftover Strips Worth?

The short answer
If you moved to a Dexcom or FreeStyle Libre and still have sealed strip boxes, they are worth real money and we pay top dollar for them. The one catch is the date: once it passes, nobody can buy them. Most people who switch sit on the boxes for a year and then find out they waited too long. Why you have so many
Because the prescription that was running when you switched had already been filled forward. Ninety-day cycles mean a switch in month one leaves you with two more shipments in the pipeline, and pharmacies keep filling until someone tells them to stop.
Do not forget the sensors
The other half of this: CGM users over-accumulate sensors too, because insurance ships on a schedule and real life does not match it. A sealed Dexcom three-pack or a stack of Libre sensors is worth several times what the strips are worth. If you have both, the sensors are the reason to make the call.
What to check before you contact anyone
- Seals intact on every box.
- Unexpired — the date has not passed.
- Retail cartons, not pharmacy-labeled containers.
- Nothing that has been in a hot car or an attic.
